Why do you deserve to be unbanned?: Global Rule 1 states - 

1. Whilst we advocate for Freedom of Speech and have very little limitation on what can and cannot be said, repeated verbal or text abuse of a player causing them discomfort is considered harassment, this includes but is not limited to the usage of racial or other offensive slurs; know where to draw the line. False allegations is also considered harrasment.

Quiet simply I didn't break this rule. Whilst I may of said an offensive word once or twice, there is no way in fucking hell I should banned. There was no repeated verbal or text abuse of a player, Finny simply teleported me to a sit and claimed he was present during me saying a slur, I asked him if it was him I was directing the slur at (to apologize) he said that it wasn't, and even if it was it "isn't relevant" ( absolutely baseless, of course it would be relevant as I intended to apologize if I did cause someone distress from verbal abuse. I tried to explain to him what led to me saying what I said; and Finny banned me in the middle of me talking without hearing me out. No one even interacted with me or replied to me during the roleplay, or indicated to me I was abusing them or making them uncomfortable. Finny just decided I was "repeatedly abusing someone" arbitrarily.

Additional Information:  Yeah I may have swore once or twice but the staff member failed to use any discretion and banned me without giving warning or providing any sort of context, explanation, warning or anything. I suspect I am easy pickings for this guy's monthly quota (I know there may not be a quota, but as ex-staff I am well aware that this guy is a new staff member and may be trying to get his numbers up.) I just feel like this was extremely heavy handed and may have been handled better.

Hey, I was the staff member that banned you.

How the situation went from my perspective, is that I was about to exit the bank until you ran in, and what you proceeded to do was say the hard R a few times as you ran past me. After that, a member of the Feld came in to the bank to whom you decided to say another inappropriate set of words (you will hear them on the clip that I will provide). You also asked for ammunition from both me and the Feld member (and later on other people in front of the ICC aswell) so you could RDM someone. Unfortunately I forgot to clip the part about threatening to RDM, but that was not factored into the ban anyway.

After all of this, I pulled you to a sit on my staff character and proceeded to explain to you about having broken Global Rule 1. I explained to you what this rule is, after which you asked me if it was myself that you were causing verbal abuse towards by using the slurs. I told you it wasn't, but that it still breaks the rule regardless. Like you said, you told me you intended to apologize if I had felt like I've been abused by your choice of words, but what you fail to mention is the fact that just because I didn't feel that way, you felt that there is "no need to apologize" for what you said.

I provided you with enough context and explanation regarding the situation. In fact, I probably gave you a lot more of an opportunity to explain yourself than would have been necessary, since you did not even want to apologize for your actions.

If you genuinely want your appeal to be taken seriously, maybe focus less on trying to point fingers at staff and more on understanding how your words can affect the people around you.

Denied.

After reviewing your appeal and the staff member's response, alongside the provided evidence, your ban will remain in place. There are serveral reasons for this decision:

1. Clear viotlation of Global Rule 1

The video clip provided clearly shows you using a racial slur (the hard R) repeatedly in voice chat while passing by another player. This is a textbook breach of Global Rule 1, which explicitly prohibits the usage of racial or otherwise offensive slurs. Your defence, that it was not targeted at anyone misses the point entirely. The rule does not require the abuse to be directed at a specific individual. The language that you used is not accepted under any circumstance in our community, full stop.

2. Mischaracterisation of the sit and staff conduct

You claim that the staff member failed to provide context or allow you to explain yourself is simply false. Finny clearly outlined what rule was broken and gave you the opportunity to respond and instead of acknowledging the issue or taking any responsibility, you doubled down and tried to dismiss the rule by playing semantics. Saying "I would have apologised if it was directed at someone" only reinforces that you don't understand or are refusing to accept why what you did was unacceptable in the first place.

3. This appeal was not a dispute but an excuse

You labeled this appeal as a dispute but failed the challenge the facts. You admitted to saying a racial slur (the hard R) "once or twice" yet the clip shows multiple clear uses of this language. Your entire appeal reads less like a genuine dispute of unfair treatment, and more like an attempt to shift the blame onto the staff member and avoid any accountability. That is not how these appeals are meant to work.

4. Warnings are not owed when it's blatant like this.

To be clear here, staff are not required to issue a warning when the offense is as blatant and severe as this one. Running around saying racial slurs does not fall under a "gray area" this was a clear cut violation and you clearly looking for a reaction. Your background as "ex staff" should have made you more aware of this, not less.

5. Accusing staff of trying just to meet "Quotas"

Suggesting that Finny issued a ban to "meet a quota" (a quota that does not exist and again something you should know as "ex staff") is not only baseless, but a transparent attempt to discredit a justified punishment. Putting the blame on the staff member rather than reflecting on your own conduct is the exact opposite of what an appeal should contain.

Final Note:

This is not a case of miscommunication, context being misunderstood, or staff abuse. This is a case of you knowingly breaking the rules and then being upset when held accountable for it.

If you are serious about returning to the server and actually roleplaying, I suggest reading the rules and reflecting on your actions.
