Over the years, I have held staff positions on countless Garry’s Mod servers, and for the past two years, I have been heavily involved in 1942-themed and roleplay-based communities. My roles have included everything from moderator to developer, community manager, and server owner. Notable communities I’ve worked with include Athena (both its original and later versions), Agartha, Aether, and Historia. I also understand that staff are representatives of the server at all times. That means maintaining a respectful, mature attitude both in and out of character, setting a positive example, and remaining active and approachable. I very often see users in the chat during later hours requesting staff but nobody replies, so my job extends to helping those during downtime, as my timezone allows it. I was a trusted user a long while ago when I was the second in command of the KG (pre Kaiserreich) but i have not had any moderation experience within NutScript. However, I have experience in other gamemodes, such as Clone Wars Roleplay, DarkRP, and a few months on a small Halo RP server. IN total I'd say around 1 1/2 years worth of experience. Why do you believe we should pick you for the Prometheus Networks Staff Team?[300 words or more]: I'm an extremely active player, often logging a few hours on my days off from work, and consistently being on at least 4 times a week. While I can understand my experience in being a member of moderation is quite limited compared to others who may apply, I believe that a lot of the time, those who are so experienced tend to abuse that authority over the community more than others. The same can also be said of those with little to no experience. I firmly believe there is a certain point where people who want to be staff or moderators truly want to dedicate themselves to helping the community instead of just gaining the ability to ban, kick, mute, or gag people on a whim. I don’t say this to put down other applicants, either; I mean to point out my view from having been an active GMod player for the last 12 years. I’ve played this game and interacted with so many of its communities that you begin seeing behavior patterns with certain individuals. In more or less words, I’ve been around the communities of GMod for so long that I think I’ve had the chance to see all parts of the spectrum of moderation and to replicate only the best behaviors. Protect the community from harassment, threat, violence (of any kind,) and mistreatment. 2. Ensure that people who are not willing to follow the rules set out by the community managers are followed, ensuring those who want to be here can do so without disruption by those who only come to create problems. 3. Maintain a level of respect between themselves and the wider community. When you join a server and your first introduction to it is a member of the staff team disrespecting you, it's not going to be a place with many members. I see those with roles as staff as a sort of dignitary for the server owner(s), and with such a position, it should be expected for them to behave in a manner that doesn’t constantly belittle people. In short, the moderation team is supposed to be there to prevent issues and to snub them out when they arise. They should be the ones providing the best example for the player base, not being the least-liked. They are the people we need to trust to treat us with dignity and respect in any situation, and should be able to help us without putting our problems on blast to everyone in the community. I’ve seen all-too-many times where staff act like bullies who behave like the jock cliche from a crappy high school movie from the eighties. I think the best way to sum it up is this: Respect the community, protect the community, nurture the community, and foster a community of kind and helpful individuals. To prevent that ban I would have simply not MRDM to try to make a few friends laugh at the time. I have corrected this behaviour by formally apologising and promised it will not happen again. I have one note for RDM I believe in 2024 for shooting a lapo member. I have had no notes or bans since the situation in February. I currently do not have any staff experience on either Gmod or the nutscript gamemode but I am applying so I can get that experience and learn how to do the job correctly. Why do you believe we should pick you for the Prometheus Networks Staff Team?[300 words or more]: The reason I want my application to be accepted and join the staff steam team is because I am always open to any form of feedback and criticisms about myself or the way I handle things. I am willing to listen and learn to do my job to the best of my ability and improve myself in areas that may be lacking. A good staff member should be able to inform and correct players of undesirable behaviour and assist them in understanding the rules better so everyone involved may have a more pleasant and welcoming roleplay experience. I wish to to join the staff team to help with tickets during peak hours and times with lower player counts, as a European player myself, it will be easier for me to assist during the "minge hours". I have been a member of the community since 2020 and have been an active member since then. I believe I have characteristics beneficial to the staff team, such as, being able to connect better with players and find solutions to problems a player may have. Staff members must remain professional and respectful to every member of the community so they are able to maintain good community relations with the players. Part of this role is to make sure that the roleplay and community remains fair and fun for everybody and educate, inform and potentially punish if the situation deems it necessary. My job may also entail answering support tickets where a player might have a simple rule or roleplay question that they need clarification on or addressing any rule violations. Our job is to be calm, respectful and patient towards all players, new and old, who may need us. I have seen many things occur in this server and have met many great people who have made me grow to love the game mode and its community. I have a drive to help the server and improve the role-play experience for others. Another reason I believe I can be an excellent addition to the team is the skills I can bring to the staff team. One of my favorite things to do on this server is talk to people. One thing you must have as a member of the staff team is clarity. This is one of the many skills that I maintain actively. Another one of my skills is my work ethic; I have grown quickly on characters like John Patriot. . This, I believe, shows my work ethic, and I think I can use that work ethic to both promote a good role-play experience and also show a sense of quality in the staff team. Another great quality I have is the ability to think rationally. I am not one who is quick to get angered by minges or people of such quality. This is a NECESSITY when it comes to someone on the team, as your position requires you to think clearly and without things affecting you, such as prejudice. [150 Words or more]: A staff member may have simple duties and responsibilities that just entail having to change someone into a faction using /charsetmodel or helping someone who has just joined the server and is asking a simple question like, " How do I join the military?" But sometimes it can involve a more serious situation such as a PK where they have to review evidence, check documents, and verify that all of this is according to the many guidelines that they enforce or a situation where someone. As previously mentioned in the last section, staff members are to present themselves in a professional manner. This includes not having prejudice, talking clearly and concisely, and being ready to be of service to those who request your help. Overall, a staff member's duty is to present a friendly and equal role play environment that all server members can enjoy, as well as a representation of the staff team's ability to handle situations that may occur on the server. If you are not ready to present that pleasant experience then you have truly failed as a member of staff. The duties are to be unbiased at all times when taking tickets or dealing with anything.
