Neutral Alright, let’s get real for a second—“Whatsup guys” sounds like the friendliest, chillest greeting ever, right? Like, just a casual hey to your crew, your followers, or honestly, total strangers on the internet. On the surface, it’s all sunshine and fist bumps. But dig a little deeper and, whoa, you’ll find it’s kinda a linguistic booby trap. I mean, we’re all just tossing it out there, not realizing we’re stepping on a social landmine every. single. time. Buckle up, because I’m about to roast “Whatsup guys” harder than a summer sidewalk. First up, let’s break down this phrase. “Whatsup” is just “What is up?” crammed together and mangled because apparently, syllables are for losers. But…what does it even mean? “What is up”—like, the sky? My blood pressure? Your existential dread? Nobody knows. It’s so vague it’s practically a magic trick. Instead of actually caring how someone’s doing, we just lob this word-grenade and hope nobody notices we didn’t ask anything real. It’s the verbal equivalent of a shrug. Dangerous? Oh, absolutely. If our language is this empty, our brains start to get hollow, too. Pretty soon, we’re all just mumbling nonsense at each other and pretending it counts as conversation. Now, let’s talk about “guys.” People love to claim it’s gender-neutral these days, but come on—deep down, we all know it started as dude code. It’s like calling everyone “bro” or “man” and then being shocked when someone feels left out. Sure, most folks don’t mean anything by it, but that’s kind of the problem. It normalizes this whole “maleness as the default” thing, and, sorry, that’s just lazy. Words have power. And if we keep defaulting to “guys,” we’re basically telling everyone who isn’t one, “Hey, you’re just part of the background.” It’s like tripping someone and then blaming them for falling. Not cool. But wait, there’s more! Tone, my friends. “Whatsup guys” has been used so much it’s like elevator music for your social life. It doesn’t spark connection, it just fills the silence. You hear it in YouTube intros, Discord calls, or when someone walks into a party and has no clue what to say. No one actually answers the question. It’s just verbal wallpaper. And the more we use these empty phrases, the more our conversations start to feel like bad improv—everyone playing along, but nobody actually saying anything real. Eventually, we forget how to actually talk to each other. It’s all just surface-level noise, like a handshake with a limp fish. Zero grip. And don’t even get me started on the fake friendliness. “Whatsup guys” is basically the “Hi, I’m totally relatable!” of content creation. Streamers, podcasters, even the dude unboxing phone chargers on TikTok—they’re all doing it. It’s meant to sound warm and welcoming, but it’s just a trick. You feel like you’re part of something, but really, you’re just sitting alone, eating digital Doritos. It’s social junk food. All the taste, none of the nutrition. Do it enough, and you start feeling weirdly lonely, like you’ve talked to a hundred people today but haven’t actually connected with a single soul. It’s exhausting. Last thing—let’s talk brain chemistry. Saying “Whatsup guys” a million times wires your head to be casual, not attentive. You stop seeing people as people and start seeing them as this mushy, undefined group blob. It’s like you’re addressing an audience of potatoes. No individuality, just crowd control. And that, my friends, is the polar opposite of real connection. It’s like being at a concert where everyone is shouting, but nobody’s really listening. Welcome to the age of performative socializing. Woohoo, I guess?2 points

Denied. You cannnot declare war in OOC chat and use that as an excuse to kill every member of a faction. This is a roleplay server, not a deathmatch server. Even if some players agreed to a shootout, that does not justify MRDM against those are uninvolved just because of their uniform.2 points

Denied. A PK is not an administrative punishment like a ban, it's an in character consequence for IC actions. PK appeals are not accepted simply because you apologise or regret the situation, especially when those actions clearly put you subject to the PK guidelines. In this case, you admitted to breaking Fear RP by pulling out your gun while you were under gunpoint and were going to get arrested, which directly led to the PK. That alone justifies the outcome. You also mention that you were trying to ask an OOC question and did not recognise that someone was attempting to initiate RP. However, pausing or disregarding RP whenever it's inconvenient is not acceptable. If you have an OOC question or need clarification, the correct procedure is to make a ticket in game so staff can assist you. Furthermore, someone trying to arrest you is not "Fail RP". If you believe a rule is being broken or the situation is improper, you should report it by making a ticket in game and staff will handle it. You should not escalate the situation by drawing a weapon or refusing to engage in roleplay. While I also appreciate that you're new to the server, the rules apply equally to all players. Your time invested in your character and your intent to follow the server rules are noted, but they do not undo the consequnces of the IC actions you decided to take.1 point

I did not mean to FearRP and I just want to RP next time properly as this is my only character in this server and hope not to lose it and not play overall as all my time is in that one.1 point

I understand and have read guidelines, I was wondering if it possible to apologize and get a warning and move on from this event.1 point

Hello, and thank you for submitting this PK appeal. I’m the individual who made the ticket that led to your PK. To provide some context: you were near the Landespolizei station during a civil war where everyone was shooting at eachother. At the time, you weren’t displaying any hostility nor were you carrying a weapon, so rather than shooting you down, we opted to arrest you as a less severe response. You were clearly instructed to stop moving and warned that any reckless actions could result in your death. Despite this, you chose to draw your MP40 and attempt to engage us, which led to you being swiftly gunned down by an Unterfeldwebel from the KG. Even if you believed the arrest was unwarranted (which, to be clear, it wasn’t), FearRP still applies. In the given situation, there was no reasonable scenario in which the risk you took would be in compliance with FearRP rules. Please take the time to thoroughly read the server rules and PK guidelines to avoid losing your character to situations like this in the future. Unfortunately, I don’t have the clip myself, as the KG member who killed you was the one who recorded it. Layheeee should also have the footage and may be able to provide it.1 point

Hi. I banned you because you were running around shooting at everybody in a Kaisergarde uniform because you "declared war" on the Kaisergarde. You can not just "declare war" on a faction to go around and kill them all. No, even if they agree. Because I did not agree, nor did @AUGUSTUS, yet we were both shot at whilst on our Kaisergarde characters because "I declared war". So, just so we're clear, you were 100% in the wrong. Now, I'll talk about why I decided to issue the ban: Initially, I was going to warn you. However, I checked your previous notes/bans. You have 4 notes for RDM, and 1 for MRDM. You have 2 bans for RDM, and 2 for MRDM (Not counting this ban). This makes no less than 8 separate RDM related offences. This is NOT a DarkRP server. This is a serious Roleplay server. Regardless; I could put the previous offences aside, since they are all rather old. But you categorically refused to apologise, or to admit you were in the wrong. You continued to argue that it was valid to start a Team Death Match on our server because you "Declared" war on a government faction. Even now, you are disputing the ban instead of apologising. Go take a break and come back when you learn what the word "Roleplay" means. -11 point

Meister Anton Roth -A member of the Rose Guard, he is responsible for overseeing the protection of high-ranking members of the Deutsch Parteiverwaltung, such as the Konsul, Vize Konsul, and Stadtleiter. -When meetings of the Federal Council or Party Command are held, he assists in ensuring the safety of all those present. 2. Sekretar Francois Schwesser -Francois is a member of the MOI administrative offices. Specifically, he is one of the few members of the Innenministerium Ministerial Territories and Immigration Affairs office. Francois handles matters pertaining to foreign immigrants, ministry-controlled territories, mineral rights in said territories, and other general administrative duties when the need arises. 3. Giuseppe Chiappone Giuseppe Chiappone is a recognizable Italian immigrant working in the Gottingen Corporation. He was once a respected religious figure, but with the lessening interest in religion within Berlin, he has relegated himself to working just as any other man in the nation. -While he no longer preaches as he used to, he can still be found walking the streets of Berlin, giving to the needy, and assisting those he can. 4. Obergrenadier Nick Dickerson II -Despite his odd-sounding name and lackluster rank, Dickerson II holds a prestigious title within the Imperial Armed Forces as a member of Military Intelligence Warplanning. He prides himself on his daily work towards the war effort and can often be found working away at new plans within his office in the Bendlerblock. -When not formulating new and daring plans, he often participates in war games and recruitment drives with the other branches of the Armed Forces. He’s frequently seen assisting in any way he can financially to those soldiers who are less than well off to ensure their efficiency and safety in battle. 5. Kiyoshi Takunaga -There is not much to be said for Mr. Takunaga. He is a lowly employee/singer for a local cigar lounge and bar. How long have you been role-playing? I have been actively role-playing on GMod and other games for 12 years, since 2013. Have you received any infractions, i.e., Notes/Bans? If so, what were they for, and what could you have done to prevent getting them next time? I have not received a Note or a Ban since 2023. It was a ban received by Hound, but I'm not sure what it was for. Regardless, I've matured since then and have not been in any trouble from that point or since my return to Prometheus. Staff Knowledge Section What previous experience do you have as a staff member within Garry’s Mod or the Nutscript Gamemode? I was a trusted user a long while ago when I was the second in command of the KG (pre Kaiserreich) but i have not had any moderation experience within NutScript. However, I have experience in other gamemodes, such as Clone Wars Roleplay, DarkRP, and a few months on a small Halo RP server. IN total I'd say around 1 1/2 years worth of experience. Why do you believe we should pick you for the Prometheus Networks Staff Team?[300 words or more]: I'm an extremely active player, often logging a few hours on my days off from work, and consistently being on at least 4 times a week. While I can understand my experience in being a member of moderation is quite limited compared to others who may apply, I believe that a lot of the time, those who are so experienced tend to abuse that authority over the community more than others. The same can also be said of those with little to no experience. I firmly believe there is a certain point where people who want to be staff or moderators truly want to dedicate themselves to helping the community instead of just gaining the ability to ban, kick, mute, or gag people on a whim. I don’t say this to put down other applicants, either; I mean to point out my view from having been an active GMod player for the last 12 years. I’ve played this game and interacted with so many of its communities that you begin seeing behavior patterns with certain individuals. In more or less words, I’ve been around the communities of GMod for so long that I think I’ve had the chance to see all parts of the spectrum of moderation and to replicate only the best behaviors. I see myself as someone who can log onto the server, help anyone who may have an issue or want clarification on what certain server rules are supposed to mean, and how players can better abide by them. I believe that out of the many applicants you have and will receive, I am the best option for the newest addition to the staff team. I am a dedicated player, a believer in following rules that keep the community safe, a person people can trust with their problems, and someone who is recognizable by many people in the community, both old and new. What are the duties and responsibilities of the position you are applying for in your own words? [150 Words or more]: In my view, the duties of staff members is to: 1. Protect the community from harassment, threat, violence (of any kind,) and mistreatment. 2. Ensure that people who are not willing to follow the rules set out by the community managers are followed, ensuring those who want to be here can do so without disruption by those who only come to create problems. 3. Maintain a level of respect between themselves and the wider community. When you join a server and your first introduction to it is a member of the staff team disrespecting you, it's not going to be a place with many members. I see those with roles as staff as a sort of dignitary for the server owner(s), and with such a position, it should be expected for them to behave in a manner that doesn’t constantly belittle people. In short, the moderation team is supposed to be there to prevent issues and to snub them out when they arise. They should be the ones providing the best example for the player base, not being the least-liked. They are the people we need to trust to treat us with dignity and respect in any situation, and should be able to help us without putting our problems on blast to everyone in the community. I’ve seen all-too-many times where staff act like bullies who behave like the jock cliche from a crappy high school movie from the eighties. I think the best way to sum it up is this: Respect the community, protect the community, nurture the community, and foster a community of kind and helpful individuals. Thank you to those who have read my application, regardless of how you vote. Notes: Regarding my time on the server, the time I have put above is only the time since the last wipe and does not reflect the time I have spent on the server. At the time of the data wipe, I had around 2 12 months on the server, which was spread over about 1 year. (I know it's an unhealthy addiction to the crack that is Prom) Thank you to those who have read my application, regardless of how you vote.1 point

This will be approved. Your PK was not a vital aspect of RP, you are being respectful and kind, and you seem willing to learn. As I said, as this was not vital to RP or the server, and as you are of lower rank and the situation was not a vastly important one, the server would not be affected by this, I don't see an issue in giving you a freebie. Coffee is an asshole.0 points
